Inspired by his parents broad musical taste & the impact of Rap music whilst living in Portugal, he quickly learned that music could be used not only for entertainment but also as a powerful tool for self exploration & social expression eventually leading him to writing raps that addressed issues relating to identity, social injustices & spirituality from the perspective of a child of the African Diaspora.
In 2023 he was picked by Portuguese National television channel RTP as a contestant for Festival da Canção, a national festival produced and broadcasted by Rádio e Televisão de Portugal to choose the Portuguese entry for the Eurovision Song Contest.
MoYah has performed extensively across Europe, United States, South America and the African continent sharing stages with some of the most internationally respected artists such as Nas, Africa Bambaataa, Yuna, Guru & Talib Kweli.
Recently he received the 21 for 21 award, recognising him as one of the most inspiring faith based leaders who is increasing dialogue and breaking down barriers in the 21st century.
In 2008 MoYah founded the 1st Muslim/ Jewish Hip Hop Duo in the UK called ‘ Lines of Faith’ delivering performances and workshops to challenge prejudice, and build meaningful bonds between communities.
In 2021 He was made the Hip Hop Ambassador of May Project Gardens, an award-winning, London-based grassroots organisation that empowers marginalised groups to address poverty, disempowerment and access to resources and influence.
In 2022 he was made the Head of Social Impact of Acorda Music, an artistic production and song-writing house based in Portugal.
